This past Friday the PTA and eighth grade English teachers attended the Howard County Arts Council Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Ceremony. We were able to thank them in person for their support of funding a grant for our annual Eighth Grade Chesapeake Shakespeare Residency that will occur in the spring! This project was funded in part by a grant from the Howard County Arts Council, through a grant from Howard County Government, the Maryland State Arts Council, the Columbia Foundation and Target.
DMS PTA Reflections 2018-19
The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts in an educational way. Through the program, DMS PTA Reflections and PTAs across the country urge students in preschool through grade 12, to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice— dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts — reflecting on a specific theme. The theme for the 2018-19 Reflections is “HEROES AROUND ME”. Due date for all the entries is November 8, 2018. For more information visit: http://www.mdpta.org/bridge_reflections.html. Please send your nominations and questions to Sridevi.email@example.com.
