The first 25 orders in will be placed in a drawing to win an herb basket. Our hanging baskets or large standing pots make great gifts! Order forms went home with students. If you need an order form, you can download it at the DMS PTA website: http://www.dunlogginmspta.org/fundraising.html. *************************************************************** STEM Day, Saturday, March 16, from 9AM - 1PM Dunloggin Middle School is hosting a FREE STEM fair for children, parents, and teachers in celebration of Pi Day. Come and celebrate with us. Learn about computer coding, cryptology, science, and do hands on activities with STEM field exhibitors and speakers. No registration required. Exhibitors include STEM after school Academy, Clubsckidsmd, National Cryptologic Museum, Science Cosmo, Code Ninjas, SheSoft, FIRST Robotics. *************************************************************** FUN Day is Friday, June 14th -Send in your $5 gift cards donations DMS Fun Day is scheduled for Friday, June 7th (during school hours). The PTA is collecting $5 gift cards to be used for the Dragon Dollar Raffle. Any donations of $5 gift cards that you think a middle schooler would enjoy (Rita’s, Subway, Target, Amazon, iTunes, Walmart, etc.) would be much appreciated. Barnes and Noble Bookfair on Apr 6th On April 6, 2019, we are having a Book Fair at Barnes and Noble, Long Gate Shopping Center, 4300 Montgomery Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043. Money raised will benefit DMS PTA. More details to come. **************************************************************** Calling all 8th Grade Parents .. Your help is needed for the end of year 8th grade dance Mr. Rajala, the Student Government Association (SGA) sponsor, is looking for parents to help coordinate with the Student Government Association (SGA) the 8th grade dance at the end of the school year. The 8th grade parent committee (needs 10 parents ) usually helps out with the planning and implementation of the event. Mr. Rajala has the venue, DJ, etc., but the parents usually help with the decorations, food/drinks, games at the dance. Please reach out to Mr. Rajala at brett_rajala@hcpss.org if you are interested in helping. **************************************************************** DMS Robotics - PTA Supported In addition to the Shakespeare Residency, BioEYES, Ji Li Jiang (Red Scarf Girl) author presentation, and Chesapeake Bay Oyster Gardening, the PTA also supports school robotics teams. "...The students are so invested and love robotics. They learn robot design, computer programming, and most importantly working with others. They give up additional time to meet on their own. And they love competing at all day events! This is really fun learning for the students.” - Teacher *****If your child is interested in robotics, mark your calendar for the start of the school year. **************************************************************** Hundreds of Box Tops Received! Thank You. DMS families rock. More specifically, your students delivered more than 1,300 Box Tops last week during our Winter drive. While we are still finalizing the count, this means another $130 toward our goal of $1,000 for the year. To date, we are at 62% of our goal, so keep on clipping those Box Tops for our next drive in the Spring. **************************************************************** Be a Dragon Trainer - Business Sponsors Welcome Is your business interested in supporting hands-on enrichment programs for Dunloggin Middle School students? Hebron High School - March 22-24, 28-30 Travel over the rainbow and along the yellow brick road with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion on a journey to Oz. A cast of 80 area students and high schoolers bring the characters to life, complete with Glinda, a wicked witch, monkeys, munchkins, and even Toto! Tickets are $10.Performances are at 7pm on March 22, 23, and 28-30. The March 24 show is at 2pm. Order tickets at http://bit.ly/2019HebronOz or purchase at the door.
